Backed by the forest of maritime pines and cork oaks, the Labenne beach, open to the Atlantic Ocean, stretches over 3 kilometers. The main beach is supervised from mid-May to mid-September for swimming, relaxing or surfing!
I enjoy the beach safely
In period of s, lifeguards ask you to respect the safety instructions. The lifeguards at Labenne beach are planning a swimming area between the red and yellow flags, installed at the water's edge.

Apart from the swimming areas, these areas are reserved for the practice of board sports (surfing, bodyboarding, etc.). Labenne surf spot is recognized by the best surfers. All the information on swimming conditions and the best advice from lifeguards are displayed at the first aid station.
The beach esplanade

By taking the cycle path on Avenue de l'Océan alongside the water park and the campsites, you arrive at thebeach esplanade. It masterfully overlooks the ocean and the forest. At any time of the day, it is an essential place to live in Labenne-Océan whether you are alone or with family. L'playground, awaits the children, the restaurants allow a break a stone's throw from the sand. Good meals are served there, but you can also enjoy a drink on the terrace at the end of the day. The dune walk

These are in fact two arranged walks on the dune starting from Labenne Océan beach. Both offer magnificent views of the forest and the ocean:
- The North Promenade opens on the wild coast and the port of Capbreton (you will see the bell tower of the Sainte-Thérèse chapel nestled between dune and pine trees).
- The South Promenade offers you a view of Odres in foreground, the bay of the Basque Coast, Biarritz and the nearby Spanish Pyrenees further south.

Follow the suggested paths carefully, the dune is a very fragile environment. Its vegetation plays a vital role in protect the coast and the forest by stopping the sand during winter storms. On the dune, you can observe the beach grass, euphorbia, sand bindweed and linear. Plants characteristic of this constantly evolving natural environment. Windbreak barriers and branches of dead plants placed by man on the dunes complete this protective system.
