Soustons plage is above all two fine sandy beaches, ocean and lake, which can be visited all year round. The beach on the ocean side is preserved, natural and invigorating. The Marin Lake beach is intended to be family-friendly, fun and suitable for children, sheltered from the dune.
Soustons-Plage, coastal part
Soustons-plage is located 7 km from the city side. It is a natural area developed between the marine lake of Port d’Albret (common to Vieux-Boucau) and the'Atlantic Ocean. A very nice layout day, under cover of pine and a vegetation Endemic. The Pinsolle Golf Course, greenways, sports and leisure activities, shops, and restaurants make it a lively place year-round. However, walking there gives us the feeling of being on vacation.

The ocean beach
At the top of the dune, a glance to the left: a strip of virgin sand stretching into infinity... A glance to the right: the houses on the Vieux-Boucau dune are barely visible in the distance, just after the mouth of the canal. This large beach in Soustons, we enjoy it all year round. It is day, disconnected (beach without wifi) and preservedIt welcomes walkers, surfers, fishermen, locals and visitors at all times, in all seasons.
- In spring, we appreciate its presence, we come back to life there. The birds have come to nest there, the sun begins to shine its rays on the walkers. The air is soft and smells of iodine. At the end of March, we experience the last high tides and then we enjoy walking along the shore.
- In summer, It's the season. We like to take advantage of it for swimming in the morning followed by a picnic. Some prefer to lie down there after a snack, their nose and body well protected with cream, their hat screwed on their head. We hear the children's laughter, the cries made when the wave arrives by surprise, the muffled sound of the surf. We even stay there to marvel at the sunset.
- Autumn arrives and here, it is often Indian summer. And who says Indian summer says sweetness of life, letting go... the gentle warmth of the sun, the caress of the breeze, the very special light of autumn which leaves the horizon as misty.
- In Winter, things are moving on the edge of the ocean! Wind, rollers, spray. The ocean is a spectacle in itself. The beach remains accessible and you can enjoy it well bundled up.

The beach of the marine lake
It is the beach of Lac Marin Soustons Plage side. It is the favorite beach for families, for its wave-free swimming in shallow water. A large playground allows children to have fun, as well as the park inflatable games, the little ones electric boats, pedalos...Located behind the dune, it's the ocean without the waves. Depending on the season, you can access it to lay out your towel and sunbathe, or to have a snack with the children and let them paddle around safely.
- We come here too to make a break, once you have walked around the marine lake. Take the time to stop under the pine trees, facing the island, to sip a cool drink or share an evening with friends.
- For those who also like the sports, it is appreciated for its proximity to the Pinsolle Golf Course but also the choice offered water activitiesIt is the preferred starting point for paddleboarders, canoeists and those who enjoy other leisure activities such as electric boats or pedal boats.
- You can land on the island's beach but don't go any further: the site is protected and its central part remains the preserved kingdom of local flora and fauna.
Welcome our animals
Dogs are tolerated on a leash on the two beaches of Soustons: the ocean beach and the La Sauvagine beach on the marine lake. So let's let our friends frolic in the sand and breathe the sea spray!
Safe swimming
The two-tone red and yellow flags mark the surveillance zones. Swimming is permitted if the flag is green. If the flag is yellow, it is permitted with "limited or marked danger." If the flag is red, swimming is prohibited.
