The festival Essential' Elles will be held on July 5 and 6 in Vieux-Boucau. In 2025, the festival is evolving and will now be conjugated in the feminine plural: it becomes Essenti' Elles, the first festival in France dedicated exclusively to female choreographers.

In 2025, the festival evolved and now takes on the feminine plural: it becomes Essenti'Elles, the first festival in France dedicated exclusively to female choreographers.
Vieux-Boucau will be transformed into a large open-air stage.
Personalized professional companies will take over the streets, public spaces and stages of the village to offer performances accessible to all: residents, holidaymakers, amateurs and dance enthusiasts. The programme is ambitious and unifying, bringing together key figures such as Mazelfreten, Midnight Collective 12, The Schini's and dancers of the Bordeaux Ballet.
The festival will also offer a “off” program around dance and female creation: a photo exhibition by Pow Roussely, performances by the Jeune Ballet d'Aquitaine and the Conservatoire de danse contemporaine, and even a giga barre dance... right off the beach!
